This project is an update of my previous Hercules/Heracles project from back in 2010. I'll be providing links to the original images each time.

Hercules vs The Lernaean Hydra

For his second task Hercules was sent to battle the mighty Hydra, a serpentine beast that had been bred specifically to kill the great man. Hercules swung his sword valiantly, cutting off head after head, but with each decapitation a new head grew in its place making the battle hopeless. Finally he called upon his nephew to aid him, because that's what family is for after all. As he cut off each head his nephew burnt the stump, preventing a new head from growing and allowing Hercules to aim for the one true head.
