Mermaid/Merman - Contest Entry

Man, I really ought to have posted more in between this and my last contest entry. Ah well, another goal for the list I guess. Had fun with this one and I think the final design is a neat combination of a whole bunch of ideas that come together fairly well. Trying out a colouring style that is somewhat looser and sketchier..what do we think? Am I making progress or going backwards?
