I want one! (saw this on Fish's signature)

KitsuneSaria here, from Gaia. I also do art, but I can't do chibi's for crap! How much are they? Or could I interest you in an avatar art trade? Note me, if you could.

Example that you own me in chibis: [link]

Hey, glad you like the art.

I'm afraid I've stopped taking requests for the time being, I was getting swamped in them so I needed to put a stop to it all before I drowned in avatar art! At the moment I'm working on a few requests that reserved spots before I stopped taking requests, so there'll be a few more bits of art popping up here and there.

I'm sure we can sort something out anyways, just not straight away okay? I do keep everyone in mind who has asked though, so I'll probably end up doing art for you eventually.

Also, no need for payment or trades, I still work for free at the moment (I am trying to think up a way that I can use this to make me some real money though, but I haven't got any ideas yet)

Thanks for your interest

You mean you were doing this stuff for free? Wow, that's really awesome of you!

But, yeah, I know what you mean; I charge gaia currency (usually between 15-20k) for the avatar art I do, and even that doesn't stop people from swamping me. I closed shop for the longest time because it was interfering with my schoolwork, but I still take requests during summer and winter break.

Anyways, a lot of people set up paypal commissions that deal with real money. However, if you wanted to get some good sales while getting your name out there, I would try getting a table at a local anime convention, then draw a bunch of popular anime/video game characters, make prints in the form of bookmarks, buttons, badges, etc. and have them for sale. Then make sure your email or deviantart account address is skillfully added in there, set up a commissions page on your journal here, and see how far the word spreads. If I saw your stuff at a convention, I'd be willing to buy something just because your art has that sense of style and design about it.

Oh, and if you have traditional art skills (say, with pencils, markers, ink) you could do commissions right there at the table.

Just some ideas to think about.

Cheers for those ideas, seriously appreciated.

I was thinking about trying to set up a proper commissions page on DA, might have to go right ahead and do that. I'd like to go to some conventions but I'm a little limited. For one thing I'm in England, where's there's not as many conventions etc. Secondly, I can't afford to travel much to get to shows, even if I could find them! XD

I do have some traditional skills too, thought it's mostly in the lineart area. Almost all the stuff you can see in my gallery is hand drawn for example.

Thanks again anyway, you've give me some good solid stuff to think about ^_^

Hmm... well being in England certainly puts a kink in things. I gues I'm just lucky in the fact I live so close to a city where two conventions are held during my summer break. I still have yet to join the commissions game, but I want to this summer, if possible.

I'm glad you found the ideas useful.

Woah. Kickass. I know everyone thinks theirs is the best, but mine is actually the best.

I had been wondering if you'd do the glowing eyes or not and you totally did. Very nice, awesome pose and a very refined feeling design.
